A special event Saturday night kicked off the pre-Barbados Independence celebration in Brooklyn.
News 12’s Joanna Hernandez was in Crown Heights for the Bajan Broughtupsy – where dozens of performers celebrated their traditions through poetry, singing and dancing.
Barbados Independence is on Nov. 30, but celebrations run throughout the month.
