A new program is bringing more employment opportunities to the Chinese community of Bay Ridge.
The program is the result of a partnership between the nonprofit Chinatown Manpower Project, or CMP, and the Allure Group, which runs the Hamilton Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where the program is held.
Participants enrolled in CMP's certified nurse aid employment program get a special opportunity to get hands-on training at the center, supplementing their studies with real-life working experiences.
The program is free and provides participants with the training they need for a career in the nursing field. Organizers say it's an opportunity for a community that at times can struggle to find work.
