Frustrated park advocates are demanding that city officials keep a decade-old promise.
Advocates protested on Sunday against the New York City Parks Department, calling for changes to be made at the Bushwick Inlet Park.
Longtime Brooklyn residents say that 10 years ago, a promise was made by the city to the people of Williamsburg and Greenpoint that a 27-acre Bushwick Inlet Park would be built to make up for all of the development that would go on in the area.
Residents say that 10 years later, only part of the park has been built.
The Parks Department says that it is taking steps towards completing the park, promising that it will bring more public green space to the neighborhood.
