Some parents in Coney Island are sending their kids to school, but there currently isn't a principal or a vice principal.
The Department of Education says it reassigned Principal Greta Hawkins, as well as Assistant Principal Gayle Gordon, pending a misconduct investigation at P.S. 90.
Parents from the school met Wednesday afternoon over worries about their children's education, and things got heated. It's not clear exactly what led to the reassignments, as the investigation is confidential, but some parents agree with the DOE decision and others do not.
Officials are now in the process of naming a new acting principal for the school.
