New York taxpayers are footing the bill for Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the executive chamber's legal issues.
According to public data, taxpayers have contributed more than $755,000 in his defense amid a federal inquiry.
As News 12 has reported, the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn and the FBI are investigating Cuomo and his executive chamber for how they handled COVID-19 nursing home deaths.
Cuomo's office hired a law firm on a $2.5 million contract. That means expenses and disbursements can't exceed that amount without additional approval by the state comptroller.
