About 200 parents, staff and community members gathered at Harding High School Thursday night for a forum about the superintendent's proposal to close six schools.
Officials say the first phase of the plan addresses three of the schools targeted for closure - Bridgeport Learning Center, Edison and Hall.
Some parents say they're not happy about the plan, saying they feel the process has not been transparent, but the superintendent says she's involving parents every step of the way.
"The bottom line is we need to provide better learning environments for our students, and we need to ensure that they're able to be prepared to be high school and college ready" says Superintendent Dr. Carmela Levy-David.
