Business owners on Flatbush Avenue say they were hit hard by the rough weather Tuesday.
They say the torrential downpour made the avenue look more like a pond, all but washing away business for the day.
"I [normally] have a great crowd, and today no one because they can't come in because of the situation we're having here," says Jennifer Willis, who owns Jamaican Breeze Restaurant.
Willis says the flooding at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Clarendon Street is much too common.
"This isn't acceptable," she says. "We want to have the whole place fixed. Every time it rains this is what happens."
Forecasters expect the cold, wet weather to persist until Wednesday. However, Friday is expected to be much warmer and drier just in time for Halloween.
