Demonstrators gathered outside of Kings County Civil Court to call for rent cancellation as eviction proceedings resume, after a moratorium on evictions ended last Friday.
Organizers held rallies at key locations and say those facing evictions have had the least access to resources.
A rally was also held outside the office of state Assembly member Lotoya Joyner.
The protesters say those facing evictions have no place else to call home and that the issue affects many New Yorkers.
With the anniversary of the start of the pandemic in New York City just a few days away, they say many have been out of work this entire time.
