Yoga is said to connect the body, mind, and spirit, but if you also want a challenge, try Yoga Pole.
"Normally in a yoga class, you're either against the wall or in the middle of the room," says Rachel Guerreau, instructor at Yoga Pole Studio in Brooklyn Heights. "And we feel like with the pole, you have more freedom to move around and get comfortable upside down."
Guerreau and fellow instructor Carolyn Chiu say this type of training leaves people energized and focused.
Besides the head rush, they say there are other benefits, including improving flexibility and core strength.
All levels are welcome in the class.
