Thursday marks one week since shots rang out on a northbound A train in Brooklyn during rush hour.
Two people who were on the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station platform when the incident took place spoke with News 12's Mary-Lyn Buckley about the horrifying moments after hearing the gunshots.
"Everyone was trying to scramble [to] safety," said witness Cynthia Howard. "It makes me think twice about riding the trains. I hid behind the train and waited for the train to come into the station so I could go home."
Fellow witness Mohamed Nabil said he got back on the train after the incident to get home, but that he's still scared to take public transportation.
While the platform at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station is back to being packed with commuters, a police presence is still noticeable nearly one week later.
