Reggae artist cut by BK man with sword

(AP) - A Jamaican reggae artist has been slashed in thehead, arm and hand by a Brooklyn man wielding a 26-inch sword. Police say the musician's neighbor was arrested and the swordrecovered on Sunday morning.

(AP) - A Jamaican reggae artist has been slashed in thehead, arm and hand by a Brooklyn man wielding a 26-inch sword. Police say the musician's neighbor was arrested and the swordrecovered on Sunday morning.
Garfield Dixon was hospitalized for several hours at KingsCounty hospital. He left with bandages crowning his dreadlocks andwrapped around his left hand, his wrist and elbow.
Dixon goes by the stage name Major Mackerel, and has releasedseveral albums.
His girlfriend, Novia Watson, says that the neighbor said he wasangry that Dixon was harassing his wife. But Watson says that Dixonnever messed with her.
Dixon also denied harassing the man's wife.
The 37-year-old neighbor faces charges including assault withintent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
