For the sixth straight year, Takeru Kobayashi won the Mustard Yellow Belt in the Nathan?s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island. Kobayashi, the phenom from Japan, downed 53 and three-quarter hot dogs in 12 minutes to set a new world record. International Federation of Competitive Eating Rookie of the Year Joey Chestnut finished in second place, eating 52 hot dogs. The only woman competing this year took third place. Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas packed away 37 hot dogs. Police say a crowd of 25,000 people watched the competition. Both Kobayashi and Chestnut say they will be back at Nathan?s in 2007.
