Construction crews are still working around the clock to repair a massive sinkhole that opened up last week on 5th Avenue in Sunset Park.
The street remains closed to traffic, and the B63 bus was rerouted, as the city's Department of Environmental Protection repairs the water main that caused the sinkhole.
DEP workers are still occasionally shutting off water to local residents and businesses as the work continues, according to neighbors.
Aaron Burdette, who manages a nearby business, says that he depends on the water. He adds that the shutdowns usually occur between midnight and 8 a.m., which doesn't hinder operations.
The DEP has given no timetable concerning the ongoing repairs.
