Report highlights needed improvements on B61 bus line
Local leaders and Brooklyn bus riders teamed up for a new report highlighting needed improvements on the B61 line.
The study found that more than half of the B61 buses clocked do not come within an acceptable time during rush hour and that some are too crowded to stop and pick up more passengers.
Suggested improvements include adding more buses, a GPS system or a countdown clock.
Riders had volunteered to conduct the study, which was published by Council members Brad Lander and Sara Gonzalez and Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez.
The MTA says it's reviewing the report and will work with the community to see what changes can be made.
