As President Joe Biden announced that the federal government would be providing at-home COVID-19 tests to relieve the long lines at testing sites, one local pharmacy has been accused of price gouging on the kits.
Residents have complained to News 12 about Riverdale Pharmacy at the Skyview Shopping Center.
They say they are overcharging for COVID-19 test kits.
The office of Attorney General Letitia James says a standard brand test kit at stores like Walgreens costs between $14 to $25 for a pack of two tests.
News 12’s Cecilia Hua went inside the pharmacy to compare pricing, which is selling it for twice that price.
If you think you are being overcharged for these kits, you can make an online complaint or call 800-771-7755.
