Some young residents embraced their scoliosis by decorating their braces and performing in a fashion show to raise money for those dealing with the condition.
Organizer Nicole Agaronnik started the Brooklyn chapter of Curvy Girls Scoliosis last spring.
She united young women from around the borough to share what they are going through and get through it together.
They all performed Sunday in a fashion show to 'take back' their medical condition.
"There's a lot of mental energy spent on hiding, and I don't think that anyone should be doing that because it's nothing embarrassing," says Agaronnik.
