Bay Ridge residents are hoping workers can speed up construction along Shore Road that some consider to be a smelly eyesore.
The Department of Environmental Protection project is installing a new water main between Brooklyn and Staten Island. The construction takes up about five blocks and blocks off a large section of Shore Road Park.
The project, which is two months under way, has some residents upset over the loss of park space and the impending closure of a number of parking spots in July for more water main reconstruction.
Other residents say that despite all the construction, they are OK with the project and the space it has taken up since it is for the greater good.
