People living in one Highbridge building haven't had elevator service for the past 15 days.
The six-story building houses 100 residents, including some who have health conditions like asthma, arthritis and hip replacements.
Tenants report that a sign was put up on the elevator door today, saying the New York City Fire Department shut off the elevator service for "immediately hazardous safety violations, like a defective safety cable."
News 12 The Bronx called the management company about the problem, but they have not commented on the issue.
