Residents in Mill Basin say they are frustrated over out-of-town drivers taking their parking spaces.
They say abandoned cars stay parked, some even without license plates, for months at a time.
Councilman Alan Maisel says that there are not enough resources to remove the cars from the spaces.
"We need the city to provide more tow trucks and they need to provide more facilities to put these cars that get towed and then auction them off," he says.
Maisel says since most people don't want alternate side parking, this issue may remain for a long time.
