Residents in Olinville say they have been dealing with a broken mailbox for months.

The broken mailbox outside the apartment at 3217 Cruger Ave. has nothing inside.

Residents say they can't get mail there because it's broken. They say the post office told them it isn't going to hold the mail for them anymore.

Roxy Johnson filed numerous 311 complaints. She told News 12 the owner of the building told her it's the post office's responsibility to fix the mailbox.

Johnson says employees at the post office on Gun Hill and White Plains roads told her that's not the case.

In other cases of broken mailboxes that News 12 has covered, a spokesperson from the U.S. Postal Service said it's up to building management to keep mailboxes in working condition.

News 12 reached out to the owner and manager of the building to see why the mailbox hasn't been fixed.

News 12 also reached out to USPS to get an answer for the residents.
