It might be bitterly cold outside, but in just 60 days, roadway dining will officially begin across New York City.
The roadway dining season officially starts April 1, and there is still time for businesses to
apply for licenses.
Many restaurant managers said while building and maintaining roadway cafes can be expensive but they do increase business.
So far, New York City Department of Transportation said it has received more than 3,700 license applications adding the program is 2 1/2 times the size of the pre-COVID sidewalk café program.
NYC DOT said restaurant owners can find companies that sell outdoor dining setups, rentals and services on its
Dining Out NYC Marketplace.
Roadway dining season runs through Nov. 29.
