Now the center looks to raise $30,000 via GoFundMe for the complete restoration of the space, as parents tell News 12 the center has made an impact on their children, from its art school to the performances.
Organizers say the center helps preserve the culture, and art for the immigrant community it serves, and they hope the community can help bring it back open.
"It is a difficult time for us, but we are not giving up, we are staying strong and help make My Way shine again," said Director Alyona Badalova.
