State Sen. Marty Golden announced today that he has secured more than $100,000 for the borough's district attorney office.
The grant money will allow the office to offer more support for at-risk youths and victims of domestic violence. Cases will be combined in family and criminal courts and will help fund Project Re-Direct, aimed at helping young gang members stay out of jail.
Half of the grant will be used to hire a full-time social worker for domestic violence victims with pending cases.
