Services were held Friday for a 74-year-old woman who was found dead on the roof of her Coney Island apartment a month after she went missing.
Crucita Alvarado, who suffered from Alzheimer's and was diabetic, was last seen on Aug. 12. Her family posted fliers all around Coney Island, hoping they would be able to find her.
A month later, police say they found a body on the roof of her apartment. The body was so badly decomposed that police were not able to confirm an identity, but they do believe it is her.
Alvarado, who was well-known in the neighborhood, would have turned 75 last week.
