Rev. Al Sharpton is calling for the indictment of the NYPD officer who fatally shot an unarmed Bronx teenager.
Sharpton joined the family of Ramarley Graham for a press conference outside the Bronx District Attorney's Office today to request a federal investigation into the 18-year-old's death. He and members of the clergy also demanded that the NYPD release information about officer Richard Haste, who allegedly pulled the trigger.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly called for a citywide review of the street narcotics enforcement unit in the wake of the shooting and announced last week that Haste had no street-level narcotics or plainclothes experience.
Haste and his supervisor are currently on restricted duty.
