A man is in critical condition after he was shot in broad daylight Tuesday.
Police say the 26-year-old victim was shot once in the back of the head around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, on the dead-end block of Debs Place in Co-op City.
First responders told News 12 he was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he continues to fight for his life.
"I heard it and ran outside," said Ray. "I really wish it could have turned out a different way, but it was just a really devastating scene."
The NYPD's crime scene unit team was back on the scene Wednesday morning, where investigators examined at least three bullet casings from the shooting.
A bike could also be seen inches from where eyewitnesses saw the victim lying in the street, although it is unclear if it was involved.
The suspect who ran from the scene was last seen wearing a white and black backpack.
