Small Business Week kicked off in New York City Monday with celebrations and discussions of economic recovery.
Mayor Eric Adams and other city leaders found themselves in the middle of a flash mob in Bedford-Stuyvesant as part of the event.
Adams joined business organizations to discuss the two years of economic challenges that small businesses faced because of the pandemic.
To address this, the mayor announced new efforts to help build relationships between the city and businesses, as well as to improve communication.
The party was hosted by TD Bank and the New York City Department of Small Business Services, which discussed options and tips for business owners regarding banking, lending and the ongoing struggle to keep their doors open.
Celebrations of small businesses and their contributions to the city will happen in each borough over the next five days.
