Snowfall, cold temps could cause icy streets and roads throughout the week

Many streets were clear as the sun went down following Monday's snow event, but the melting snow, puddles of standing water and slick conditions could set the borough up for a refreeze, as temperatures are not expected to be above freezing until at least Friday.
In Bushwick, multiple sidewalks were seen with ice and snow as pedestrians walked carefully around the pockets of slippery conditions near the Jefferson Street L train stop.
“The sidewalks are still super slippery. There's a lot of ice. We almost slipped a few times earlier today. Definitely being careful taking more steps. Lots of little steps out here. It did stop snowing earlier though so that is good, said Eric Ji, a Bushwick resident.
