Students from seven public schools Wednesday in Brooklyn unveiled social action murals in Prospect Park.
The murals come as part of the “CEI Benchmarks – Youth Setting the Standard for Social Change” five boroughs exhibition. The unveiling was hosted by the Center for Educational Innovation in partnership with the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
Each mural represents a social issue that the students feel is the most important to them, including gun violence, child abuse, racism and homelessness.
Thirty other schools across the city are also taking part in the exhibition.
The benches will be in Prospect Park until September before being placed back into the schools that they were made in.
