A new project announced by Mayor Bill de Blasio will bring solar panels to 24 schools in New York City.
The $28 million project will not only install solar panels at the schools, it will also implement curriculum that teaches students about the environment.
De Blasio also plans on installing solar panels at more than 300 public buildings in the city. He says it is something important to do as a way to fight climate change.
It has not yet been decided which schools will have solar panels, but they will be in all five boroughs. The city intends to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050.
