There has been a rise in businesses across New York City requiring proof of vaccination before entering bars and restaurants.
It comes as the delta variant of the coronavirus spreads across the country.
It’s a move that Mayor Bill de Blasio has encouraged but not required.
Other restaurants are going by the honor system and not requiring vaccination proof.
One business, Goldies on Nassau Avenue in Greenpoint, says it used to ask for proof of vaccines.
When the number of cases began to decline, the restaurant says it stopped given the high vaccination rates in the neighborhood.
Recently, the high rate of infection has caused the restaurant to start asking for proof of vaccination once again.
Restaurant groups like the Union Square Hospitality Group require vaccines for staff and patrons but worry that they might lose some business due to the restrictions.
