Police say a person was shot near East 171st Street and Third Avenue in the Claremont section of the Bronx on Thursday morning.

Authorities said the shooting happened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The FDNY said the victim was taken by NYPD officers to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police said the victim is a teenage boy between 15 and 17 years old.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information about the suspect.
