Southport-born Mac Forehand failed to qualify for the men's freeski slopestyle final, following the qualifying runs on Monday, Feb. 14.
He struggled with his balance on his first run and fell on his second jump of the second run.
Forehand was born in Southport, Connecticut but grew up in Vermont.
He won the World Cup Slopestyle title when he was just 17 years old.
Even though Forehand failed to qualify, three other Americans will compete in the men's freeski slopestyle final
Colby Stevenson, Alex Hall, and Nick Goepper all had strong first runs, and were all good enough to place in the top 12 slots to move on to the final round.
The United States seeks to sweep the podium like it did at the 2014 Winter Games. Back then, skiers had two runs and only the top score counted.
