Following a three-day trek at sea and a layover in New Jersey, the space shuttle Enterprise arrived at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum today.
The prototype shuttle did not fly in space, but was used for atmospheric test flights. It was craned onto the Intrepid's flight deck, which is docked on Manhattan's west side.
The spacecraft had been at JFK Airport since it was flown from Washington atop a 747 jet in April. Its exhibit is expected to open to the public in July.
