A worried family is searching for a special needs teenager who disappeared from her Sunset Park school.
Nashaly Perez Rodriguez's mother says she went to Lillian L. Rashkis High School, or P.S. 371, to pick up her 15-year-old at around 1 p.m. on Monday. School officials told her upon arrival that her daughter left the school and was missing.
The teen's family held a press conference Wednesday, organized by the same attorney who represents the family of 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo. The autistic boy's body was found months after he disappeared from his Queens school last October.
The family also filed a police report and says the girl has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other mental and emotional issues that require medication. They're calling for Mayor Bill de Blasio and the district attorney to do a full investigation.
Sources tell News 12 Brooklyn that the principal of the school has been reassigned because of the incident.
Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina said in a statement, "I am deeply concerned about this student and we have school support on site as we work with the NYPD to investigate this matter."
Rodriguez is 5 feet 3 inches tall and 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white bandana with a red shirt, black jeans, and red and black sneakers.
