Parents are outraged after hearing that a Borough Park school that serves children with special needs will be closed.
The Guild for Exceptional Children's Carrie Mastronardi Early Childhood Education Center gave notice that its services will end on Jan. 25.
Parents held a meeting to discuss how they could save the school, which serves children with special needs and runs a universal pre-K program. The school also offers programs for Spanish- and Chinese-speaking parents.
However, the school says its costs per child are greater than the amount it receives from the New York State Education Department. It has been operating at a deficit for six years.
Parents plan to hold a rally next month to save the school.
