Stamford-based Americares is prepared to
respond to
Hurricane Ian.
The nonprofit is
sending hygiene essentials, medicine, relief and medical supplies to its
partner clinics.
They will also
send emergency funding to help repair damaged health facilities.
"Americares
has a long history of responding to disasters, especially in Florida. And we're
looking at providing health services to our partners we have over 200 partners
throughout Florida. And work with these health centers on an ongoing
basis," said Betsy Warfield, interim vice president of emergency programs.
An emergency
response team will soon deploy to Tampa as well.
