Millions of dollars to help fight homelessness will be making its way to the Bronx.The borough is being awarded the money by the state's Department of Temporary Disability Assistance. Thirteen counties in the state will be getting grants, with the Bronx seeing $12.5 million.The grant will be used to fund homeless housing projects in the borough. More than 700 units are expected to be developed with almost 900 beds. Officials say the funding will benefit those that are at risk of becoming homeless, such as senior citizens, domestic violence victims and those with mental illnesses.Part of the grant will also be set aside to develop housing for those with HIV.
