State police to help NYPD in hate crime attack investigation

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is now directing the state police Hate Crimes Task Force to help the NYPD investigate a hate crime that happened in Brooklyn.
Police say the man slapped a 27-year-old man wearing religious clothing in the back of the head. It happened near Flushing and Nostrand avenues Wednesday afternoon.
Cuomo said in a statement, "I am sickened to learn of yet another anti-Semitic act of violence in Brooklyn this week. These incidents are increasing across the state and are part of the cancer of intolerance that has been injected into this nation's body. It must stop."
