A stop-work order issued to some condominium developers in Ocean Parkway one month ago doesn?t seem to be stopping anything. The Department of Buildings issued the order after construction caused the wall of a nearby kosher supermarket to collapse. However, tractor engines rumbled Tuesday despite a visible stop-work sign at the construction site. The angry storeowner says this exemplifies the developer?s blatant disregard for the law and for safety. The owner of the supermarket also says the developer had been trying to buy the sotre?s property for over a year. He says the developer was unsuccessful and the cause of the wall collapse was no accident at all.
