Grocery stores, including the Throgs Neck Foodtown, felt the effects of the winter storm as shoppers prepared themselves Saturday afternoon.
According to Harry Celentano, the store manager at Foodtown, locals often pack the aisles of the store ahead of winter storms.
"It's been a little hectic in here for the past two days,? Celentano said.
A winter weather advisory was in effect for all of Saturday. The area saw accumulations under 2 inches before the precipitation changed over to a wintry mix Saturday night.
