Stormy weather will arrive in New Jersey late Thursday night and will last into Friday morning.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Dave Curren says that thunderstorms are possible, along with localized flooding and power outages.
The rain began around 9 p.m., but Curren says that the worst of the storm will be sometime after midnight and last through 6 a.m. Friday. Winds will become gustier overnight and could cause property damage or power outages.
The storm will start to move off the coast by around daybreak. The winds will change direction and become north/northwesterly, bringing colder Canadian air into New Jersey. Curren says that the daytime high on Friday will be set around midnight on Friday and then temperatures will start to drop. Overnight lows will be around 27 degrees.
Saturday will see a mix of sun and clouds, with gusty winds by the afternoon. High temperatures will only be in the low-40s. Saturday night will be mostly clear, with overnight lows around 21 degrees.
Sunday will see mostly clear skies, with some clouds. Daytime highs will be around 44 degrees. The skies will remain clear overnight, with lows around 19 degrees.
The temperatures will warm up again for Presidents Day on Monday, with highs around 57 degrees under mostly clear skies.
Rain could possibly return by Tuesday.
