Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says to expect very poor weather conditions tonight. Flooding and wind damage is likely overnight into the Monday AM.
- Flood advisories have been issued for Nassau and Suffolk counties until 5:30 p.m.
- Rain will intensify later tonight bringing stretches of heavy rain across the Island
- Winds will be the biggest concern for Suffolk County but latest guidance suggests even more rain will impact the area overnight.
- Late Monday morning things will clear out with rain but will remain breezy throughout the day.
OVERNIGHT: Heavy rain continues and wind picks up. The worst wind will happen between 6PM and 4 AM, especially out east. Sustained winds 20-30 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.
MONDAY: Rain ends around sunrise, cooler and very breezy. WNW wind at 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40.
TUESDAY: Cold in the morning with clear skies sin the afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 40s, feels like 30s. Winds from the WNW at 10-20 mph.
WEDNESDAY: A mix of clouds and sun. Chilly and breezy with highs in the low 40s, feels like 30s. Colder overnight with lows in the upper 30s.
