Some stormy weather is expected to start off the Memorial Day weekend, but the long weekend won't be a complete washout.

WHAT'S NEW:  Some thunderstorms possible Saturday.
WHAT'S NEXT: Storms end, things dry out for Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend.
Some stormy weather is expected to start off the Memorial Day weekend, but the long weekend won't be a complete washout.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Dave Curren is tracking a storm system expected to arrive today. Strong winds, torrential downpours and lightning are expected to be the main threat. Isolated storms containing large hail up to an inch is also possible.
The severe threat is mainly for the western half of New Jersey. The storms should roll in between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Temperatures will be in the high-70s under mostly cloudy skies, with overnight temperatures in the low-60s. 
Saturday has a chance for an isolated rain shower in the mid-afternoon. Temperatures will be near the 80s, with overnight temperatures in the low-60s.
The forecast for Sunday calls for temperatures in the 80s.
Memorial Day Monday calls for a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the 90s.
The upcoming week could bring the first heat wave of the season.
