STORM WATCH: Wet start to the day; conditions improve with cooler temps for Brooklyn

Here’s what you need to know:
  • It's a cloudy, wet and breezy start to the day. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s. Pockets of moderate to heavy rain will reduce visibility, bring slick travel and ponding on the roads.
  • Today will be much cooler, breezy with improving sky conditions. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.
  • Temperatures will tumble through the weekend. Highs dropping to the 60s. Overnight lows will be in the 40s and 50s.
  • We're watching for a potential coastal storm Sunday into Monday. Windswept rain can bring messy travel and coastal impacts. We're still a couple days out and a lot can still change with the trajectory and intensity with this system. However, there's a growing confidence that a storm will impact our area on Sunday into Monday. The intensity of the storm is still to be determined. If it continues its northern path, expect periods of heavy rain, flash flooding concerns, wind damage and coastal impacts. Stay tuned for updates!
TRACKING THE TROPICS: There are two areas of interest in the Atlantic and Gulf. Tropical Storm Jerry formed in the Atlantic yesterday. It is forecast to intensify to a category two hurricane as it brushes towards the Northern Leeward Islands. Heavy rain will impact portions of the Leeward islands and bring the concern for flash flooding through Friday.

Thursday: Brighter, brisk and breezy. Highs near 60. Lows near 48.
Friday: Sunny, fall chill and pleasant. Highs near 63. Lows near 51.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, seasonable and nice. Highs near 67. Lows near 54.
Sunday: Partly sunny, mild and breezy. Chance of rain. Highs near 64. Lows near 55.
