FORECAST:
The weather will be cold but quiet for Friday morning and temperatures will start to recover under beautiful fall sunshine during the day. The weather will gradually go downhill over the weekend with rain, wind and even coastal flooding.
A coastal storm will be developing off the southeast coast on Friday. It will strengthen into the weekend and eventually bring impacts to Western CT starting Sunday. We are in for a prolong period of NE winds, rain and even some coastal flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood watch Sunday into Monday for the possibility of minor to moderate flooding on the Sound.
There will be widespread rainfall and strong winds. More details to come as the forecast gets fine-tuned over the next day.
In the meantime, the weather will be cold and frosty for the morning commute. Highs Friday afternoon will rise into the lower 60s. Saturday will be warmer with a change in wind direction. Temperatures will return to the upper 60s for a time but then cool down with the rain and wind coming in for Sunday and Monday.
