Local leaders demand answers after Bensonhurst fatal hit-and-run

Local leaders are demanding answers after a Bensonhurst woman's life was tragically cut short after a hit-and-run.
The search for the driver continues. "She should be alive today," said Councilmember Mark Treyger.
Treyger is calling for justice for 67-year-old Deborah Mutell. He addressed the community at the intersection where Mutell lost her life.
Police say Mutell was trying to cross 86th Street near Bay Parkway when a private sanitation truck hit her--dragging her body several feet.
"Families in my community had to witness this murder and they had two separate bags on the floor. Her body was split in two," said Treyger.
"Somebody behind that wheel struck this woman and made the decision to keep on driving," said Rep. Max Rose.
Treyger says he'll continue to do what he can in hopes of preventing future tragedies from happening.
