Volunteers with the North Brooklyn Angels spent their Thanksgiving serving hot meals to the Williamsburg community.
More than 100 people got a seat at the table at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Thursday morning. They were invited for a free Thanksgiving dinner that included all of the traditional holiday fixings and homemade deserts.
North Brooklyn Angles is a non-profit that feeds more than 1,800 Brooklyn residents weekly, bringing hot food to where it is needed most.
"I think that it's really important to be able to give to those less fortunate, especially because we have so much. And I think that especially during the holiday season, those are the times that people really need just others around them and they just need someone that will provide for them or be kind to them," said Angelina Aviles, a 14-year-old volunteer.
The non-profit served 540 meals in total across three locations in Williamsburg, East Williamsburg and Greenpoint. They also delivered meals to people at their homes who could not make it out to the church.
