One Brooklyn school acknowledged Black History Month with a special celebration this Thursday.
Students at Isaac Bildersee Intermediate School 68 learned about different types of African dancing, stepping and the singing of spirituals to celebrate Black History Month.
Students also enjoyed food from different countries and had the opportunity to showcase the struggle of different black historical figures.
“It means a lot because we can honor all those who fought for our freedom, and it's just a marvelous thing to do,” said student Akayalah Rose.
