Students in East New York host walk to spread awareness about breast cancer
Students in East New York marched Monday to spread awareness about breast cancer.
The children, from Trey Whitfield School, walked around the block while chanting and holding signs.
The walk is part of the school's program called TWS Cares. Organizers say it was started about three years ago by two of the teachers.
Each month, the program focuses on several causes, ranging from breast cancer awareness to anti-bullying, mental health, autism and sickle cell disease.
In addition, the program also raises money for breast cancer research.
Organizers say they plan to host this walk each year.
